Location:
Black Point Trail in Mt. Diablo State Park
Date: 09/19/17
Time: 9:00 am
What we are doing:

After having gone a month without trail projects at Mount Diablo, it is time to get things started back up again.  We will be returning to Black Point Trail and will very likely make it to the summit of Black Point.

We will meet at the Mitchell Canyon Staging Area at 8:30 am on Tuesday, September 19.

We have been getting a lot of compliments about what we have completed on this trail so far.  All of the compliments have mentioned an appreciation for having the trail cleared and they have also mentioned the quality of the work done by the trail crew.

There is still plenty of tread repair to do and overhanging vegetation to remove. There is not much poison oak on this part of the trail.

Be sure to wear long pants and a long-sleeve shirt to protect you from the sun and the scratching brush.  Sturdy footwear will be important and there should be no open-toed shoes.  Gloves and hard hats will also be required.  I will have gloves and hard hats if needed.  Also be sure to bring lots of water to drink during the day.  I will bring extra water and ice for you to have.  Clif Bars will be available in the morning and cold beverages will be provided at the end of the day.  Bring your own lunch and snacks.

If you do not have a park pass already, I will try to send a pass in maybe a week. I am not sure if we will have the use of the park van. We will see on Tuesday September 19.
